How Does It Work?
UV Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) is a sterilization method that uses UV light at a sufficiently short wavelength to break down micro-organisms and kill or inactivate them by destroying nucleic acids and disrupt their DNA, leaving them unable to perform. It is used in a variety of applications such as food, air, surface, and water purification.

UV-C is dangerous to the eyes and skin of humans, to animals and plants; therefore, an exposed UV-C device needs safety protocols in place that will safeguard the user and prevent unauthorized people from operating it.
- Wear PPE provided.

WARNINGS AND SAFETY
Exposed UV-C products should never be permitted to operate with humans, animals, or plants present in the operation area. Exposure to direct or reflected germicidal ultraviolet rays must be avoided, as it causes eye irritation and reddening of the skin.
When using exposed UV-C products, PPE’s must be worn – gloves, long sleeve shirt with no gaps between cuffs and gloves, UV-C blocking face shield/glasses to protect eyes and exposed skin and signage to advise of UV-C sterilising in the area.
